Banker’s Anchor is a public plaza in Greenpoint, brought about by North Brooklyn Mutual Aid to create a welcoming third space for community gatherings. We developed a complete identity toolkit featuring a custom typeface, layout system, icon suite, and color palette — all reflecting the plaza’s spirit. Both the logotype and our typeface Triad use triangular counterforms and crossed contours to reference the plaza’s defining intersection. Intersecting lines form the foundation of the icon and layout systems, naturally depicting or framing content. A varied palette celebrates the character of public spaces, with hues drawing on the warmth of the sun, the openness of the sky, the solidity of asphalt, and the lushness of grass.
