Strawberry Western is an independent fashion label by Kisa Shiga, blending Harajuku street style with kitsch Americana. We developed an identity that captures this eclectic mix, centered on a circular motif that runs through the logotype, a pair of custom typefaces, and a playful graphic system. The logotype draws inspiration from “Western” wood-type aesthetics while using round countershapes to hint at strawberries. Bilingual in English and Japanese, it reflects Kisa’s multicultural background while adding accessibility. The stylized strawberry shorthand symbol reinforces the logotype’s presence. The main custom typeface, an unconventional serif built on the same circular foundations, offers a range of optical sizes surprisingly functional for everything from product headlines to body copy.
